URBAN SAFARI (2018)

URBAN SAFARI (2018)

“The iconic image of Yves Saint Laurent’s first safari jacket in 1967 lends us the imagination of the African troops in the uniform in cotton gabardine and the idea of the world in the 1960’s in the age of discovery and spirit of freedom”
The whole collection started with the safari jacket Yves Saint Laurent first introduced in his 1967 runway shows. From that iconic image appeared in Vogue Paris in the following year, our designs for this Spring/ Summer 2018 collection were developed around the image and lends us the imagination of the African troops in the uniforms in cotton gabardine and the idea of the world in the 1960’s in the age of discovery and spirit of freedom. The collection was shaped into our signature style, known for our light constructed tailored pieces such as wool/ linen jacket and and double pleated trousers in crisp cotton twill. A four-pocket safari jacket in white and navy blue cotton/ linen blend. The collection wouldn’t be completed without the M-65 military jacket (originally created for the US troops in Vietnam war) with our reinterpretation in rip-stop cotton and brass zipper and snap closure details, and the French inspired work jacket in indigo linen, all recreated in a modern fit with respect to the old tailoring techniques.
